It’s annoying to have bat wings or flabby lower arms. Many of us avoid wearing off-shoulder or sleeveless tops. You can tone your triceps with these exercises.

The accumulation of fat on your arms is usually the cause of bat wings. As we age, our metabolism slows down due to hormonal changes as well as lack of activity and exercise. While whole-body workouts are good for your entire body, it is important to focus on specific problem areas like bat wings with exercises. Triceps exercise tones, develops and strengthens muscles in this area. Here are some exercises to tone the lower triceps:

Triceps Dips: Sit down on a bench with your legs in front. Your palms should be placed on the edge so that your buttocks are hovering over the floor and your feet are pointing forward. Bend your elbows, and lower your hips to the floor. Push yourself backwards and return to your starting position.

Triceps Pushup: Plank with straight arms. Keep your hands below your shoulders. Exhale and lower your body so that your chest is almost touching the floor. Press your upper body to its starting position using your triceps. As you squeeze your chest, do the exercise. This exercise should be done three times with 15 to 20 repetitions. If you’re a beginner, or you feel too much pain, you can bend your knees to touch the floor.

Triceps dumbbell Kickback: Stand with your back straight and a dumbbell in each arm. Your palm should be facing the inside. Keep your back straight and bend your knees slightly so that your upper-body is parallel to your floor. Your arms should be parallel to the floor with a 90 degree angle between your forearms and arm. Exhale while keeping your upper arms still and lift the dumbbell with your triceps until your arm is straight. Hold this position for some time and then lower the dumbbells slowly.
